Virtual Therapy and EMDR in New Jersey

Trauma-informed, evidence-based care delivered in a fully virtual setting, for adults throughout New Jersey, from Essex and Bergen to Morris, Hudson and beyond. Secure video sessions from home or any private space.

Therapy That Meets You Where You Live

Finding the right therapist in New Jersey often means weighing distance, traffic and parking against a busy week. Meeting by video removes all of that. You join from home, from your office between meetings, or from any private space, and the full hour belongs to you.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey, with 13 years of experience working with adults and older adults. My work focuses on anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, life transitions, relationships and self-esteem. I am trained in EMDR, and I also draw on approaches such as CBT, DBT and mindfulness-based techniques.

Serving Clients Across the Garden State

I can see you by video whenever you are physically in New Jersey at the time of our session. That includes:

  • Essex County, including Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, West Orange and the Caldwells
  • Bergen and Passaic counties
  • Hudson County, including Jersey City and Hoboken
  • Morris and Union counties
  • Central and South Jersey, and the Shore

Many New Jersey residents commute into Manhattan. Because I am also licensed in New York, we can keep meeting by video on days you are in the city. See the New York page for details.

What a Session Looks Like

Video sessions happen on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. You receive a link ahead of time and join with a click. Phone sessions are available if you prefer them or your connection is limited.

Each session follows a steady structure. We start where you are that day, work on the goals we set together, and close with a sense of what to take into the week ahead.

Setting Up Your Space for Video Sessions

  • Choose a spot where you can speak freely without being overheard
  • Use headphones if you share your home with others
  • Keep a glass of water and something to write with nearby
  • Silence notifications so the hour belongs to you

Video sessions are held to the same confidentiality standards as any therapy session. I always join from a private setting, and we can plan together if finding privacy at home is a challenge.

In-person sessions in Montclair are available on request.

EMDR by Video

EMDR adapts well to video. Bilateral stimulation, the back-and-forth element of EMDR, can be done by following a moving point on screen or through tapping you do yourself. We prepare carefully first, building grounding and coping skills, before we begin processing the experiences that still weigh on you.

Read more about the process on the EMDR therapy page.

Insurance and Costs

I work with several insurance plans and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Because benefits differ from plan to plan, I can help you confirm your coverage before we start. A sliding scale is available with an eligibility application. Details are on the fees and insurance page.

Take the First Step

Start with a free 15-minute phone or video consultation. It is a relaxed conversation to talk about what you are looking for and to see if we are a good fit. Contact me to schedule it.

Therapy is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.

Common Questions

Do I need to live in New Jersey to have video sessions with you?

You need to be physically located in New Jersey or New York at the time of each session, since I am licensed in both states. Where your permanent address is does not matter.

Can I do EMDR by video from New Jersey?

Yes. EMDR can be delivered by video using on-screen or self-tapping bilateral stimulation.

What if my internet connection drops during a session?

We agree on a backup plan at the start, usually that I will call you by phone so we can continue the session without losing time.

Do you accept insurance for video sessions?

I accept several plans and provide superbills for out-of-network coverage. Telehealth coverage depends on your plan, so I recommend verifying your benefits. The full list is on the fees and insurance page.

Are in-person sessions available?

Yes, for those who prefer them. Yes, on request, at my Montclair office.
