Do you have a hard time coping with current or past situations? Do you feel stuck, unable to make decisions, or struggle with relationships? Do certain experiences from your past still influence how you navigate your life today? Therapy can help you build meaningful relationships, increase self-esteem, manage stress and anxiety, heal from traumatic experiences, and establish healthier patterns.
I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 13 years of experience working with adults in private practice and in an outpatient agency setting, including treatment for individuals with dual diagnosis. As a therapist, I strive to provide a safe, supportive space where you can work through the patterns and issues that get in the way of a more satisfying life.
I am trained in EMDR, an evidence-based approach for processing trauma, distressing memories and PTSD. EMDR can help when past events continue to affect your daily life. I also use mindfulness-based techniques and integrate other evidence-based approaches, tailored to the specific needs of each person I work with. Together we can uncover unhelpful patterns, work through the emotional blocks and unresolved experiences that keep you feeling stuck, and move toward your full potential.
I received a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a master's degree in General Psychology from the City University of New York. I consider continuing education an essential part of offering the highest quality of care.
My practice is virtual: I see adults by secure, HIPAA-compliant video, or phone if needed, anywhere in New York or New Jersey. In-person sessions in Montclair, NJ are available on request. I also offer therapy in Polish.
